Convert Chase statements to Quicken (QIF)
Upload a Chase checking, savings or credit card statement PDF and download a QIF file (bank or credit-card type) or an OFX file. Newer Quicken versions prefer OFX/QFX; QIF suits older versions and apps like GnuCash and Moneydance.
Free: 5 pages a day, no account needed. Text-based PDFs work best; scanned statements are read with OCR.
How Statemio reads Chase statements
Chase checking statements list deposits, checks, card purchases and electronic withdrawals in separate sections; Chase credit card statements group payments, purchases and fees. We read each section, keep the sign right, and reconcile against the statement summary.
Statemio has a layout-specific reader for Chase checking and savings and credit card statements. We regression-test it on synthetic statements modelled on the bank's published layout. Banks change their layouts, so we never assume it worked: the balance check tells you on every file.
The balance check
Opening balance + every transaction must equal the closing balance (for credit cards, previous balance − payments + charges = new balance). If the totals don't match, you see a red badge and the rows that break the running balance, before you download anything. Pages from statements that don't balance aren't counted against your allowance.
